The State Board of Education has full authority to adopt standards .The Alabama State Board of Education shall choose 
the tests to be used, grades to be administered, and when chosen tests shall be administered.

Body: 

Per Chapter 290-4-2 of the State Board of Education Administrative Code, all schools are required to have a unified and coordinated state testing program. The Alabama State Board of Education shall choose the tests to be used, grades to be administered, and when chosen tests shall be administered. The State Superintendent is authorized to develop and implement an assessment required for an Alabama High School Diploma.
