The redesigning of the New Mexico English language development (ELD) standards was a team e ort that was shaped during four days of professional development in Albuquerque and Santa Fe during Fall, 2008. Organized by the New Mexico Bilingual Multicultural Education and Title III Bureau, a team of teachers representing districts throughout the state came together to rethink how to represent the academic language requisite for English language learners to succeed in school.
