Oklahoma - Content Standards: Standards Authority
The State Board of Education has full authority to adopt standards. State Board of Education has authority, but the legislature has specified in law the courses required for high school graduation (70 O S. §§11-103.6), the scope of social studies curriculum (70 O. S. §11-103.6a), AIDS prevention education (70 O.S. §11-103.3), approval of sex education curriculum (70 O.S. §11-105.1), the Passport to Financial Literacy instruction (70 O.S. §11-103.6g-11-103.6h), and physical education programs (70 O.S. §11-103.9).
