Summary: 

The Chancellor of Higher Education and Superintendent of Public Instruction have the authority to set metrics for educator preparation programs.

Body: 

(A) Not later than one year after October 16, 2009, the chancellor of higher education and the superintendent of public instruction jointly shall do the following:
(1) In accordance with Chapter 119. of the Revised Code, establish metrics and educator preparation programs for the preparation of educators and other school personnel and the institutions of higher education that are engaged in their preparation. The metrics and educator preparation programs shall be aligned with the standards and qualifications for educator licenses adopted by the state board of education under section 3319.22 of the Revised Code and the requirements of the Ohio teacher residency program established under section 3319.223 of the Revised Code.
