In order to become a certified teacher in South Dakota, an applicant must hold a bachelor's degree, complete an approved teacher preparation program, and pass state certification examinations.

Body: 

An applicant new to the profession must submit verification of passing scores on the state certification exams for each content/area authorization and for the pedagogy exam that most closely matches the applicant's preparation; verification of completion of an approved education program or an approved education endorsement.
