Arkansas requires Smart Core student's 4 credits to include 1 unit of Algebra I, geometry and Algebra II. All students must take a math course in grades 11 or 12.

Arkansas requires Core student's 4 credits to include 1 unit of algebra or equivalent and geometry or equivalent. All math units must build on the base of algebra and geometry. A 2-year algebra equivalent or 2-year geometry equivalent may each be counted as 2 of the 4-unit requirement.
