The assessments that are required are: Criterion Referenced Tests (grades 3-8, science), English Language Proficiency Assessment, High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE, Science Math and Reading), Nevada Alternate Assessment, High School End of Course (Math, ELA), Smarter Balanced


Beginning in school year 2014-15, Smarter Balanced assessments will replace the Nevada Criterion Referenced Test in Reading and mathematics for grades 3-8 and writing in grades 5 and 8. The assessments are comprised of two parts: (1) a computer adaptive test and (2) performance tasks, administered within a 12-week window in Nevada for grades 3 through 8.
