State law recommends specific time to eat after sitting down or requires 'adequate' time to eat.

New York Consolidated Laws 813 School lunch period; scheduling.

Each school shall schedule a reasonable time for each full day pupil attending pre-kindergarten through grade twelve to consume lunch.
