(8) Recommend policy changes, staff training, and strategies on family, student, and community engagement to improve the efficient and equitable delivery of public education services

401.3 The Superintendent shall develop procedures and programs to ensure that appropriate school system personnel receive the training in parent involvement required to implement this section.

This document provides a sample template for LEAs in the development of their parent and family engagement policy, in accordance with requirements for parent and family engagement under the Every Student Succeeds Act. The document encourages LEAs to provide professional development for LEA and school personnel on parent and family engagement strategies.
