Physical Education Exemptions for Illness

State law allows PE exemptions for medical illness.

Mississippi Administrative Code 7-3-38.12.1 Appendix

  1. Waivers/Exemptions b. In grades K-12 there shall be no exemptions from physical education except for a medical exemption provided by a physician. The following guidelines must be followed:
    • i. A physician must complete a Medical Release Form provided by the school.
    • a) the school must keep the completed form on file.
