The administrative guidelines provide information and guidance for the development of individualized student Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and life-threatening allergies. Guidance includes what information the EAP should have and with whom the EAP should be shared.

(h) Inhaler use.-Asthmatic students whose parent and physician provide their approval to the school principal may carry a metered dose inhaler on their person while in school. The school principal shall be provided a copy of the parent’s and physician’s approval.
