Guidelines for Vision Screening in Missouri Schools
This manual describes guidelines for vision screening in schools. Regarding the near and distance acuity screenings, for students in preschool through kindergarten, if each eye does not see at least the 20/40 line, they should be referred. For students in first grade and after, if each eye does not see at least the 20/30 line, they should be referred. Regarding the binocularity/stereoscopic vision screening, students who do not locate the Stereo "E" card in at least four out of five presentations should be referred.
