(B) In any fiscal year, a city, local, exempted village, or joint vocational school district, community school, or STEM school shall spend the student wellness and success funds it receives for any of the following initiatives or a combination of any of the following initiatives: ... (10) Professional development regarding cultural competence

(A) The educator Standard board, in consultation with the chancellor of higher education, shall do all of the following: … (B) The educator Standard board shall incorporate indicators of cultural competency into the Standard developed under division (A) of this section. For this purpose, the educator Standard board shall develop a definition of cultural competency based upon content and experiences that enable educators to know, understand, and appreciate the students, families, and communities that they serve and skills for addressing cultural diversity in ways that respond equitably and appropriately to the cultural needs of individual students.
